Starting wages

External hires start with the following ranges, depending on experience and certification level:

  • Apprentices: Salaries start at $56,368 and range to $72,404 based on experience.
  • Licensed Engineers: Starting salaries typically range from $73,881 for early‑career professionals (1–3 years) to $89,232 for those with 6+ years of experience, with quick progression to Certifying Engineer status.
  • Certifying Engineers (endorsement on Dash 8-400, CRJ or E175 aircraft type): Starting salaries begin at $93,371 for early‑career candidates, with progression up to $101,899 based on experience and qualifications. Once hired, employees follow the collective agreement where wages grow based on experience, additional qualifications, and progression within the organization up to $130,000 and beyond.
